Three years later\, he was elected Mayor - becoming the youngest Mayor in the history of Ottawa and receiving 82% of the popular vote.\n\n \n\nFollowing the amalgamation of Ottawa and surrounding communities\, Mr. Watson served as President & CEO of the Canadian Tourism Commission\, a Federal Crown corporation. In 2003\, he was elected MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean and re-elected in 2007.\n\n \n\nA committed member of his community\, Mayor Watson has also served as a regular member or honorary President of several community organizations.
