Ottawa Board of Trade Mayoral Debate 2026

As Ottawa prepares to elect its next Mayor on October 26, join the Ottawa Board of Trade for a timely and engaging debate featuring the top-polling candidates seeking to lead our city through its next chapter:

Ottawa has the talent, institutions, businesses, and quality of life to compete with leading cities around the world. This election is an opportunity to hear how those seeking to lead our city plan to turn that potential into results and address the opportunities and challenges shaping Ottawa’s future.

Grounded by the Ottawa Board of Trade’s More Ottawa campaign, the debate will focus on three priorities for our city’s future: building for growth, competing to win, and elevating the capital.

Candidates will share their perspectives on how Ottawa can build the housing, transportation, and infrastructure needed to keep pace with growth and make it easier to get things built. The conversation will explore how our city can create the conditions for businesses, talent, and investment to choose Ottawa, while positioning our region to compete for the opportunities ahead. Candidates will also discuss how we can elevate Canada’s capital by creating a safer, more vibrant and welcoming downtown and strengthening Ottawa as a destination to live, work, visit and invest.

The decisions made by Ottawa’s next Mayor and Council will help shape how our city grows, competes and delivers in the years ahead. With Election Day approaching, join us to better understand where the candidates stand on these priorities and the issues shaping Ottawa’s future, and gain valuable insight ahead of casting your vote.

More ambition. More action. More Ottawa.
