Description
Join Roxanne Whiting as she shares her journey of growing up with Deaf parents in Ottawa and becoming a champion for accessible communication.
In this session, we'll explore the difference between hearing and Deaf cultures and the significance of sign language. Drawing from Roxanne’s experiences, we'll uncover the power of effective communication and the vital role interpreters play in bridging linguistic and cultural differences between communities.
We’ll also cover the qualifications and standards essential for effective interpretation, while squashing some misconceptions.
Learn about increasing accessibility with sign language interpreting, sign language translation and the difference between the two.
