About Gordon McMillan
Gordon McMillan is the founder of a mid-sized creative agency called McMillan.
After graduating from University of Victoria with a Creative Writing degree, Gordon began his career as a freelance writer, working mainly in the field of foreign affairs and health promotion. He began working for ad agencies early in his career as well, mainly on hi-tech accounts. Gordon became Creative Director of a firm in Ottawa, Ontario, though he continued to operate as a separate company with all writing resources working for me. He managed to triple billings in 2 years. Then, after a year in New York working as a senior writer on Dell Direct, Xerox and Mercedes Benz for Lowe Direct, Gordon returned to Ottawa to start McMillan.
As Founder and Chief Creative Officer he guided the strategic direction of the company, the hiring of talent, and played the role of Creative Director on many of McMillan's lead accounts. Over the years, McMillan helped develop brands and branded experiences for some rather notable clients: Adobe, CA Technologies, Canadian Tire, Cognizant, DFIN, Dun & Bradstreet, Experian, Hitachi Data Systems, Intuit, LexisNexis, Microsoft, Oracle, Schneider Electric, ServiceSource, Unify, Sophos, Symantec, TrendMicro, and United Rentals.
