Guest Speakers:
Dr. Farrell is the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Community Mental Health at The Royal. For almost two decades, she has been a Clinical Psychologist and her work is focused on persons with mental illness and supporting them in community-based models of care. Susan is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and a Clinical Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She is an active researcher in community-based research and evaluation of community and hospital services for persons with mental illness. In 2018 she was awarded the Excellence in Training award from the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs for her community-based training models for Psychology Residents and was made a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association for her national contributions to Psychology and society.
Dr. Robillard directs clinical sleep research at The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR), affiliated with the University of Ottawa and co-directs the Sleep Laboratory of the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa, where she is also an Assistant Professor. After completing her PhD in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Montreal, she obtained national awards to support her post-doctoral work in psychiatric sleep, chronobiology and neuroimaging research at the University of Sydney in Australia; the IMHR; and the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience. Dr. Robillard has received the New Investigator Award of the Australasian Sleep Association, the Young Investigator Inspiration Award of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, and the IMHR’s Emerging Research Innovators in Mental Health (e-RIHM) award.
